Cars we need and cars we don't
In the last two days The Independent, one of my favourite British newspapers, has had two spectacular cars in its motoring section, up there on the front page as a special feature. These cars were a Lamborghini and the 5.2 litre Audi S8 V10. Now, what's so special about these two cars is that they are both planetfuckers of the highest possible order. They are both so utterly pointless as to go off any reasonable scale. And yet The Independent, which I read for its thought provoking and outspoken stance on global warming, covers these dumb beasts as if we should all be coveting one. What's spectacularly stupid about this is that we should be talking up cars that are safe and reliable and don't stick two fingers up at the planet and its scant, fast disappearing resources. There's little hope left when even newspapers who pretend to care publish this revolting shit. They should be ashamed of themselves. People need to start being more responsible in every aspect of their lives, and that means not slobbering over rampant planetfucking cars like the above.
