America is too stupid to rule the world

Recently John Bolton was shoehorned in by Bush as the US representative at the UN. This is the man who sacked staff who didn't agree with his far rightwing views, a man who suggested if a UN building collapsed and they 'lost 10 floors' it wouldn't make a difference, a man who clearly hates the UN with every sinew.
Now this ugly nazi is proposing 750 changes to a UN document, which shows more than ever before how crude, dangerous and nasty the Bush administration is. If we didn't know already, Bush wants any reference to global warming removed from the document, as he does reference to military action as a last resort, as he does to references to corporate responsibility, as he does to a international criminal court, as he does to a promise to up foreign aid to a miserably small 0.7% of GDP - which at the moment in the US stands at 0.2% - one of the lowest in the developed world, and a whole host of other nasties.
When I think of Bush and the USA's actions around the world I can only think of projectile vomit. And yet it could be so much different. The US could be a force for real positive change in the world, not the sad sack of shit coming out of Washington. I pity the Americans their stupidity, I really do.
